BASIC DISCOVERY FLIGHT
about this experience
The Basic Discovery Flight, priced at $99 is an excellent opportunity for those of you who may be dreaming of becoming a pilot, but aren't really sure where to begin. It is our shortest experience, but the basic discovery flight packs a lot of value into a single event.
What you'll get...
1. PREFLIGHT BRIEFING
We start things off in the classroom. Here, your assigned instructor will take about 10-15 minutes to discuss some of the physics of flight, energy management concepts, the sight pictures of visual flight and lastly, addressing any questions you may have about your upcoming flight experience.
2. PREFLIGHT INSPECTION
Your Flight Instructor will guide you through a detailed preflight inspection of the airplane. During this time you will learn about the various parts of the airplane, use of the checklist, and will conduct an inspection of some of the critical components, systems, and control surfaces of the aircraft that pilots routinely check before every flight!
3. THIRTY MINUTE FLIGHT EXPERIENCE
Your instructor will taxi out and takeoff, once a safe altitude is reached, you'll take the controls! Under the guidance of your Certified Flight Instructor you will learn how to make the airplane climb, turn, descend, and conduct basic flight maneuvers. Take in the scenic beauty, feel the rush of the takeoff and climb, and see what a typical flying lesson is like.
4. POST FLIGHT PHOTO OP
Nobody will believe you without pictures, right? Following the flight, you will be given the opportunity to memorialize the experience with a snapshot next to the airplane using your own camera or smartphone.
5. POST FLIGHT debriefing
Once back in the office, your instructor will take the time to answer any questions you may have about learning to fly, as well as discussing financing options, costs, timelines, materials needed etc.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
*Must be at least 13 years of age
*Must be able to enter and exit the aircraft without assistance
*Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
*This is a one on one training experience intended for you to evaluate your own level of interest in learning to fly, no guests please
*If you should enroll in a training program, this time DOES count toward your certification
