ULTIMATE DISCOVERY FLIGHT
about this experience
The Ultimate Discovery Flight answers the question "what can aviation really do for me?" priced at $500 the Ultimate Discovery Flight Experience offers those student pilot prospects a prime opportunity to see what these airplanes are really capable of by opening the throttle and really going places! Availability is extremely limited as we only offer about 15 of these experiences annually.
What you and one guest will get...
1. PREFLIGHT PLANNING
In our classroom, you will assist your instructor in planning a flight from Athens, to Conroe, Texas. Plot the course, account for magnetic variation, winds aloft, and learn to plan an actual navigational flight from point A, to point B. You will also receive basic instructions regarding the operation of the aircraft.
2. PREFLIGHT INSPECTION
Your Flight Instructor will guide you through a detailed preflight inspection of the airplane. During this time you will learn about the various parts of the airplane, use of the checklist, and will conduct an inspection of some of the critical components, systems, and control surfaces of the aircraft that pilots routinely check before every flight!
3. FLY TO CONROE FOR LUNCH AT THE BLACK WALNUT CAFE!
Your instructor will taxi out and takeoff, then turn the flight controls over to you. It will be up to you to put the airplane on course, navigate by visual reference to plotted checkpoints you mapped out during the planning phase, and locate the destination airport where you will enjoy lunch on us during a Q&A session with our chief, or assistant chief flight instructor.

4. POST FLIGHT PHOTO OP
Nobody will believe you without pictures, right? Following the flight, you will be given the opportunity to memorialize the experience with a snapshot next to the airplane using your own camera or smartphone.
5. POST FLIGHT debriefing
Once back in the office, your instructor will take the time to answer any questions you may have about learning to fly, as well as discussing financing options, costs, timelines, materials needed etc.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
*Must be at least 13 years of age
*Must be able to enter and exit the aircraft without assistance
*Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
*Limit one guest, please
*If you should enroll in a training program, this time DOES count toward your certification
*PLEASE BUDGET APPROXIMATELY FOUR HOURS FOR THIS EXPERIENCE
